Sony provides an update on the health of the PlayStation business.

Puertorock77 Live: Analyst Predicts PS5 to cost $800 |Nintendo Proves Exclusives Matter |

– Michael Patcher predicts the Playstation 5 will cost $800. By far the most asinine statement I have ever heard.

-Exclusives matters and Nintendo Switch clearly proves this.

-Constant rumors of which console between Xbox Anaconda and PS5 is more powerful is one of the sillest trends we have in gaming.

How the PS4 Won a Console Generation

It’s no secret that the PlayStation 4 platform dominated the market during its generation, pulling the rug right out from underneath Microsoft’s once coveted throne during the Xbox 360 era.

From a cheeky walkthrough of how to play used games on PlayStation 4 in response to Xbox One to the onslaught of generation defining titles, the PS4 has a history like no other in the long years that video gaming has been around. Instances like God of War’s organic modernization of a well-beloved franchise, or taking chances on new IPs such as Horizon Zero Dawn and watching it bloom into instant fan favorite are some key moments in the lifecycle of the PlayStation 4 that sealed its superiority.

The PS4’s legacy will live on for years to come, even in the era of the next-gen with PlayStation 5. You can bet that IGN will be there every step of the way. For everything PlayStation and the next-generation of video games, keep it on IGN.

Sony Anticipates Fewer PS5 Sales Than It Thought, By Millions Of Units – IGN Daily Fix

On today’s IGN The Fix: Games,

Sony had previously expected to sell more than 14.8 million PS5s by March 2022 – a number that would have seen the console exceed PS4’s on sales in its second financial year on the market. The company is now no longer expecting to be able to reach that level of supply, and is now forecasting 11.5 million sales for the year.

PlayStation plans to release “more than 10” live service games by March 2026, a feat that will be helped by its acquisition of Bungie. Live service games are games that are updated with new content over time, often making the majority of their money through in-game purchases, rather than initial sales.
